The Conservation Council of
North Carolina maintains a homepage where you can read their
newsletter.
The Blue Ridge Environmental Defense League is concerned with

The Sierra Club is active in
environmental affairs and has a list of North Carolina
chapters.
The Environmental Defense Fund addresses many issues
of interest to our state's environment.
Contact the office of Steve Levitas, Deputy Secretary of
Environment, Health & Natural Resources. His office should be
able to provide information on the Southern Appalachian
Man and the Biosphere (SAMAB) project, which needs volunteer help. SAMAB
