Joseph C. Logan

UnsworthJoseph C. Logan (March 19, 1928-) was born in Athens, Georgia. He received the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (1947) and the Master of Fine Arts degree (1951) from the University of Georgia. He received the Ph.D. degree from Florida State University (1966).

Dr. Logan joined the music faculty at Appalachian State University in 1966 and retired in 1991. During his tenure at Appalachian he served as Coordinator of Graduate Studies in Music and taught courses in music education, vocal performance, chorus, and music history at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

He served the university as Assistant to the Chancellor (1970-1973) and Dean of the College of Learning and Human Development (1973-1977).
