The Political Science/Criminal Justice Department and the International Relations Association of Appalachian State University are sponsoring Model Security Council Conference on the Appalachian State University campus.  This program is a way of getting students involved in and aware of the various international events that are affecting the interests and well-being of the United States as we move into the new millennium.

ACTIVITIES

The conferences will begin at 9:00 am and end at 4:00 pm with a break for lunch.  The conferences will begin with a review of the rules or procedure for the benefit of first-time participants.  The conferences will end with an award ceremony.  Seven to ten councils will be in session concurrently.   One (and possibly more) of the councils will be reserved for crisis simulation issues with no advance topic suggestions, if there is a sufficient request for it.  Please select "Crisis Simulation Council" if you wish your delegation to participate in this.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

A registration fee of $25.00 for the first delegation and $10 for each additional delegation is required with the return of the attached application form (if paying by check, make it payable to International Relations Association, address below).

There also is a fee of $6.00 per delegate to help defray the expenses of the conference that will be paid on the day of the conference.

Those schools which register by Febuary 17, 2008, have a greater chance of getting first choices. However, applications will be accepted until March 27, 2008.

Need an application?  Click here for registration form . You may also register electronically (although delegation choices are not finalized until money is received).

If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.    The Club can be contacted via email. You may also contact the faculty advisor.
